CMD Fine Art Oil Paintings

I am a Utah-based artist specializing in landscapes and still life paintings. I began my artistic journey during a two-month sabbatical in 2022, traveling through eight western states and visiting national parks, monuments, and off-the-grid locations.  I took along a set of watercolor paints and when we had down time I'd paint a picture of our current location.   I enjoyed painting so much that after the sabbatical I just continued painting.

These days, I paint primarily in oil but sometimes still venture into watercolor.   My work has been showcased in in the Midway Art Association Gallery, and events such as Wasatch Plein Air Paradise, American Fork Steel Days Art Show and the Highland Fling Art Show in 2024 and 2025

I sign my art "CMD".   My first given name is Carlyle, and although I've never gone by Carlyle, I like the symmetry of the initials CMD and decided to run with that as a signature for my artwork.

I share my work on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cmdfineart
